A swirl of blues, from turquoise to deep blue, turns around the centre of the canvas like moving water. On it rest dried leaves and petals, real ones, held in the paint and touched with gold, as if autumn had fallen into a lake.
Natural threads draw loose lines across the composition, following the circular movement. A glossy coat covers the whole surface and catches the light: up close, you can see the relief of the leaves, the weave of the canvas and tiny dark grains carried along by the current.
