About Karla
Painting came into my life several years ago. I taught myself, with a little guidance from a painter friend, and gradually discovered the joy of creating through experimenting.
After a long break, my return to it came about unexpectedly.
While buying paintings to decorate my home, I thought: why not create my own?
And so I went back to canvases, paints and materials.
Abstract art is my favourite way of expressing myself. I don’t start with a set idea. I let the colours, shapes and textures lead me. When I paint, I switch off completely from the world around me.
Sometimes I end the day feeling that something is still missing. The next day, I go back to the canvas and keep going until I feel the work is finished.
I believe art has no single interpretation. Everyone sees something different in a painting, finds their own emotions in it and discovers meanings that others might not.
Creating my own paintings is already a huge satisfaction. Knowing that someone connects with one of my works so much that they want to take it home would be a very special reward.
I create freely. Everyone is free to find their own story in what I paint.
